One of the most dark Shostakovich-symphonies was taken on by the North Netherlands Orchestra: Nr. 8, one of the famous war-symphonies. Paired with Schumann piano concerto played by the Dutch pianist Hannes Minnaar.

And life is… when on your way, walking from concerthall to the train station in UTRECHT, FIVE complete strangers stop you – to tell you how moved they were by both pieces and this very special one-minute-long noiseless silence after the last SHOS-8-sounds… In the darkness of the evening you see one of these complete strangers has tears in his eyes, doesn’t know what to say, is searching for words… And instead of speaking he just gives you a spontaneous and heartbreaking hug…
