Inspiring return to Danish National

What an extraordinary experience to celebrate the 90th birthday of one of the most important Danish composers after Nielsen in concert with the phenomenal and very inspiring DANISH NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, Antony’s third visit to them. Per Nørgårds lightning last Symphony Nr. 8, his almost spiritual Violin Concerto (with the incredible Christina Åstrand!), paired with the world premiere of Line Tjørnhøj's “Ør” for percussion and “ultra prepared-piano”, played by the giants Jakob Weber and Gert Sorensen. A hugely inspiring week, full of enormous dedication, human understanding, professionalism and amazing mastery by these exceptional musicians - to make music on the highest level!

"The DR Symphony Orchestra filled the stage well with around 100 musicians, and not least against that background it was impressive that Dutch conductor Antony Hermus, …, managed to bring out so many nuances in the orchestral sound.”
